Editorial Policy

CleanEnergyCalc exists to give homeowners a neutral, math-first second opinion before a five-figure clean energy decision. These are the standards we hold our content to.

Reviewed by Jiseok LeeLast reviewed
Fact-based, sourced data

Every figure traces to a named public dataset (EIA, DOE, NREL, DSIRE). We don't guess or use vendor-supplied marketing numbers. Where a value is uncertain, we say so and use hedged language ('approximately', 'estimated').

Regular review & updates

Rates are checked against EIA's monthly releases and incentives are updated when programs change. Each calculator and guide shows a 'last reviewed' date. Our full calculation approach is documented on the methodology page.

Independence

Our calculators are not sponsored by installers or manufacturers, and affiliate relationships never influence calculator outputs, rankings, or the underlying data. We do not publish paid placements disguised as editorial content.

Affiliate disclosure

Some pages include recommended products with affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and these relationships are disclosed inline next to each recommendation.

Corrections

We review every correction request and aim to respond within 48 hours. If you spot a data error, an outdated rate, or an incentive that has changed, email contact@cleanenergycalc.com or use our contact page. Material corrections are reflected in the page's “last reviewed” date.
