Our Mission

Data Transparency for Every Energy Decision

Contractors are experts at selling. Data is the expert at saving. We built Clean Energy Home Hub so homeowners can see the real math — before they ever sign a contract.

Why We Built This

When homeowners research solar, EVs, or heat pumps, the first results they encounter are almost always from companies with a direct financial stake in the answer. Installer quote forms, leasing promotions, and dealer inventory pages dominate search results — not independent analysis.

We set out to build something different: 16 completely free calculators grounded entirely in government and academic data. No lead-generation forms hidden behind results. No inflated savings estimates designed to close a sale.

Our tools are used by homeowners, energy consultants, financial advisors, and journalists who need a neutral second opinion before making a five-figure clean energy decision.

Our Commitments to You
  • No sign-up required — every calculator is free, forever.
  • No hidden data — methodology notes explain every formula.
  • No vendor lock-in — results include quotes from multiple installers.
  • No stale numbers — data is reviewed against EIA monthly releases.
  • No conflicting incentives — affiliate relationships are disclosed inline.

Our Data Sources

Every number in every calculator traces back to a named, publicly accessible government or academic dataset. Here's exactly where we get our data.

US Energy Information Administration (EIA)

Residential electricity rates, monthly consumption trends, and utility-level energy statistics. Updated every month.

US Department of Energy (DOE)

Federal incentive frameworks, EV battery performance research, home efficiency standards, and Inflation Reduction Act guidance.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

Solar irradiance maps, PVWatts energy production models, peak sun-hour data for all 50 states, and grid-edge technology research.

A Note on Affiliate Links

Some pages include recommended products (solar inverters, EV chargers, heat pumps) with affiliate links. When you click and purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This revenue keeps the calculators free. All affiliate relationships are disclosed inline, next to each recommendation. They never influence our calculator outputs or data sources.

Questions or Corrections?

Found a data error? Spot an outdated rate? We review every correction request. Reach out via our contact page and we'll respond within 48 hours.

All calculations use US EIA February 2026 residential electricity rates and NREL PVWatts v8 solar production models. Individual results vary based on location, home characteristics, and utility rate plan.
